Women Rise to Financial Independence Program
The LDC of East New York was recently awarded a grant from The New York Women's Foundation through the RISE-NYC! Initiative, to enhance its Personal Finance and Credit Training Program. The enhanced program is called "Women Rise to Financial Independence Program", and it provides one-on-one intensive money management coaching, and the 18-hour financial literacy and money management training. Participants of this program will learn how to:

• Objectively assess their financial situation;
• Make a distinction between financial needs and wants;
• Develop a personal and business budget, where applicable;
• Reduce debt, including credit card balances;
• Secure business funding if needed;
• Improve their credit score; and
• Start implementing a savings plan.
